Most Kuwait stores that call us are not broken. They work, they take orders, and they quietly lose money at three or four points: a checkout without KNET at the top, a delivery form that does not ask for the block, product pages with no Arabic names, and a phone experience nobody tested on a slow connection. An ecommerce developer hired by the hour fixes those points one at a time. The rate is 10 KWD per hour and the first hour is free.

When to hire by the hour instead of ordering a store

Order a whole store when you are starting from nothing or replacing something beyond repair. Our ecommerce practice does that as one project with a fixed shape.

Hire by the hour when the store exists and the list is specific. Typical lists look like this: add KNET and an installment option, fix the Arabic catalogue, connect stock to the shop system, make the category pages load faster, stop the duplicate orders that appear when a customer taps twice. Each item has a visible before and after, which is exactly the kind of work that suits hours rather than a quote.

The Kuwait-specific work

Checkout. KNET first, cards second, Apple Pay where it helps, and installments where the basket is large enough to matter. KWD carries three decimal places, and a store that rounds to two quietly mis-charges on every order. Deeper background sits in the KNET integration service.

Delivery. Kuwait addresses are area, block, street, building, floor. Zones with their own fees, a minimum order, a same-day cut-off, and an order card the driver can actually read in Arabic.

The catalogue. Arabic names, Arabic categories, and search that copes with the way people type: without vowels, with a letter missing, or in English letters. A filter set that matches how the shopper thinks, not how your supplier’s export file is organised.

Platform. The platform decides who you hire. If yours is Shopify, a Shopify developer is the faster hire, and the Shopify and WooCommerce comparison is worth ten minutes before you decide anything.

How the engagement works

The free first hour is with an engineer who will open your store on a phone while you talk. You get back a written list of the problems found, with an hours estimate per item, and you pick which ones get done. Work runs on hours, logged and visible, with a product engineer and a technical architect reviewing inside KuwaitDev’s team. Both languages ship together with a true right-to-left layout, and every account stays in your company’s name.

What it costs

Hours times 10 KWD. A store rescue of the kind described above:

Work Hours Cost
Checkout and abandoned-basket review 3 30 KWD
KNET and card checkout through a gateway 12 120 KWD
Kuwait delivery areas, fees and time slots 7 70 KWD
Arabic product pages and catalogue search 8 80 KWD
Mobile speed pass and go-live checks 3 30 KWD
Total 33 330 KWD

Longer partnerships earn 15%, 30% or 50% off the rate, as set out on the pricing page. Gateway and platform fees are paid by you to those providers.

How to start

Book the free hour and bring your store’s admin access, last month’s order count, and the complaint you hear most from customers. If the honest answer is that your store needs replacing rather than repairing, you will hear that too, with the hours it would take.

Frequently asked questions

Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom store?

Shopify if you sell ordinary products and want someone else to keep the platform alive. WooCommerce if you already run WordPress and need unusual rules around pricing or content. Custom only when your business logic is the product, for example rentals, subscriptions, or a spare-parts catalogue matched to car models. Most Kuwait shops that ask for custom actually need Shopify with two or three extensions.

Can you add KNET to a Shopify store?

Yes, through a gateway such as MyFatoorah or Tap, which is how KNET reaches most hosted platforms. Public fees at the time of writing are about 0.250 KWD per KNET transaction through those gateways, roughly 0.100 KWD if you integrate with KNET directly, and around 2.5% plus 0.100 KWD on cards through MyFatoorah. Direct KNET is cheaper per order but slower to set up, so it pays off at higher volumes.

How do you handle delivery areas in Kuwait?

Governorate and area lists, a fee per zone or a flat rate, minimum order values, time slots and a cut-off time for same-day. The part shops forget is the block and street fields in the address form, which the driver needs and which a generic international checkout does not ask for.

Can customers pay in installments?

Tabby, Deema and Taly can all appear as options at checkout, usually alongside KNET and cards. Approval and commercial terms are between you and the provider. Our hours cover the integration, the Arabic wording at checkout and the order states that follow when an installment provider approves or declines.

Who loads the products?

Usually your team, with an import built by the developer so it is one spreadsheet rather than hundreds of forms. Spend the effort on Arabic product names and categories, because that is what customers type into your search box and into Google, and a catalogue that only carries English names is invisible to half your market.
